Research activity in the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering is undertaken within the Sustainable Infrastructure Research & Innovation Group (SIRIG) in the School of Building and Civil Engineering.

SIRIG currently has four research pillars:

• Environment & Energy
• Structures & Infrastructure
• Digitisation & Education in AEC
• Wellness in the Built Environment        

Staff of the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering contribute significantly to the activities across these pillars.
