Careers/Grad Employment

Our graduates have an excellent reputation with local, national and international companies. We have graduates working with all the major consultancies in Cork - Arup, Mott MacDonald, RPS, Malachy Walsh and Partners, Horganlynch, as well as the major contractors - Sisk and BAM. Our graduates also are much sought after from utility companies such as ESB, Bord Gáis and Irish Water.

 

 

Kieran Ward

Kieran graduated with a 1st Class honours degree in Structural Engineering in 2015. He joined ESB International in September 2015 as a civil engineer, where he is currently working on the development of a number of wind farm projects across Ireland. Kieran’s role includes the evaluation of project constraints in the process of formulating suitable design solutions.

                          


 

Ben Henry

Ben Henry graduated with a BEng (Hons) in Structural Engineering in 2014 and completed the MEng Structural Engineering at CIT with 1st Class honours in 2015. He is now working as a structural design engineer with Arup Consulting Engineers in their Cork office. Ben is currently working on the design of a deep underground metro station to be constructed in Riyadh.


Ben has run the CIT International Students Society, which was awarded Best College Society of Ireland in 2014.

                          

 

 

Donal Cronin

Donald Cronin originally graduated in 1993 with a B.E. (Honours) Degree in Civil Engineering from UCC.


Most recently, he graduated with a 1st Class Honours MEng in Civil Engineering from CIT.


Donald has over 22 years experience working as a Civil Engineer or Project Manager on infrastructure investment projects in the areas of: water supply, wastewater, roads, rail, harbour and urban planning and currently employed by Cork County Council as an Executive Engineer.


He was previously employed with German Rail for 4 years in Nurnberg, Germany and after returning from Germany, worked with Consulting Engineers in Ireland for 8 years before taking up his current position with the Council.


He is a member of Engineers Ireland (MIEI).


Donald is from Cork and currently living in Ovens with his wife, Maura and their five children: Aisling, Ben, Catherine, Maeve and Emily.
